Description
In the recent past I have seen a great trend toward smaller tap handles. Here is the best of the best. These tap handles are repurposed. They are simple and functional. Best of all they are extremely economical. If only you could smell the aroma of the bourbon while these are being machined - like nothing else! These are white oak tap handles made from a Bourbon Barrel Stave. Straight from the Kentucky Bourbon Trail Distilleries in nearby Kentucky. These really deep colored french white oak staves are fresh and have a ton of added color. Most of the charred inner surface has been removed.
The staves measure 4" tall and are approximately 1" wide and about 1" thick. Since these are repurposed staves, the widths and thicknesses will vary. The lengths are consistently 4”.
Note: there may again be two variations along the top of the handle - one from the barrel lip and the other simply cut as a wedge [see pix]
I utilize a special threaded insert that DOES NOT stress the wood. Using the common threaded screw-in style or a hanger bolt will significantly weaken the area.
They are clear coated to preserve the oak finish.
