Custom Tap Handles of EXOTIC Hard Maple Burl

READ THE FOLLOWING VERY CAREFULLY:
I just could not pass up the opportunity to make some tap handles from this absolutely rare and beautiful wood.  Maybe the best way to explain this type of wood is to equate it with the patterns of marble or granite.  Not only is this cut extremely hard, it is very unpredictable in that it may fracture and fly apart during the turning process.  Burls are an unusual external growth resulting from e tree repairing itself after some form of injury.  When the tree is felled and the burl removed they must be coated in wax and stored in a dry space untouched for years - yes YEARS.  They typically range from about 16-24” across and are essentially the shape of a half beach ball.
While these tap handles do not have chalkboard and other ornate carvings they are absolutely unique and finish very well because they are so hard.
These handles are simple yet of breathtaking quality and beauty with their outstanding appearance and crowned top radius.  Top measures about 1.25" in diameter and bottom about 1".   They are 4" tall.
They use a specially designed 3/8" adapter to fit directly on any standard faucet.
