    INTRODUCTION:
    In
    Numbers 15:37-41, Deuteronomy 22:12
,  G-d (YHVH) commanded Moses for the Children of Israel to put
    "fringes"
on the four corners of their garments.  The Hebrew words are
    TZITZIT
    in
    Numbers 15:37-41
(which has a numerical value of 600); and
    GEDILIM
    in
    Deuteronomy 22:12.
Ashkenazi, Sephardic and Chassidic tassels have 5 knots and 8 cords which equals 13 (600+13=613).  613 is the number of
    MITZVOT
    (commandments) found in the
    TORAH
(the first 5 books of the
    TANAK -
Hebrew Bible).  Karaite and Two-House tassels have 12 strings and are made into "chains" or "braids."
    In the
    Ashkenazi
    ,
    Sephardic
    , and
    Chassidic
styles, the long cord is called the
    shamash
(servant) which wraps around all of the other strings.  The number of
    shamash
spirals between the knots is also interesting.  Various Traditions signify one of the Names of G-d (YHVH) differently.
    STYLES
    :
Tie Your Own (string only) COTTON
If you already know how to tie TZITZIT
    and just need the string,
    you can tie your own
    !  (instructions are NOT included)
The "String Only" kit (as pictured here) includes:
    (12) 40" white strings and (4) 60" shamash strings (Default Navy Blue).
PLEASE NOTE: These string lengths are enough to tie basic sets
    (
    Ashkenazi
    ,
    Sephardic
    ,
    Chassidic
    ,
    Rav Amran Gaon
    , etc.).
You can also cut the strings to shorter lengths if needed.
    This is
    NOT
enough string to tie Karaite or Two-House styles.
Please contact me for custom color requests or lengths.
    KOSHER ISRAELI
    WOOL
Israeli WOOL Tie Your Own (listed separately)
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/133447883114
This is pretty awesome!  I have had
    several
requests for WOOL.  So far, I have just done this on an individual basis as this sheep (ewe) wool from the Holy Land is
    more expensive
    than the
    much easier to find
COTTON.  But for those who want it, I've started keeping this machine-made, durable, thick, tightly woven, Israeli, kosher, wool in stock (not like the fuzzy springy yarn stuff you have no doubt seen).  This elite spun WOOL is exclusively made for hand-tying tzitzit.  I must say that in my experience I find that there are different levels of seriousness in fringes, so for the folks who want to do the good deed of tying their own tzitziyot in fulfilling the commandment of tzitzit with higher quality WOOL, here you go.  It is the same string as what you find on a tallit made in Israel.  TAKE NOTE: I order this special wool and have it shipped
    from Israel
.  It comes exactly as pictured below and is
    precut
    to these lengths:
Length of the 12 regular strings -
    34.6
    " (
    88cm)
Length of the 4 shamash strings -
    44.1
    "
    (
    112cm)
I can NOT do custom lengths on this string as I can not find someone in Israel to sell it to me by the spool.
    Maybe one day (pray hard).
Also, this is just the string
    (instructions are NOT included).
This special "WOOL - String Only" kit includes enough string to do 4 corners:
These string lengths are enough to tie basic sets
    (
    Ashkenazi
    ,
    Sephardic
    ,
    Chassidic
    ).
You can also cut the strings (if your minhag allows it) to shorter lengths if needed.
    NOTE: This is
    NOT
enough string to tie Karaite or Two-House styles.
Please contact me if you are interested in dyed wool (currently experimenting with this)

    Karaite
    (4 to a set)
    (
    listed separately)
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/141214168949
Various braids, twists, "chains": Interestingly, there are no
    exact
instructions in the Bible, on how to make these tassels and many have looked at the usage of the above Hebrew words (
    TZITZIT
    and
    GEDILIM
) and concluded that "braids" or "chains" are the proper way to make them.
Please understand that these sets take
    over 2 hours
to make (about 30 minutes per tassel).
There are 12 blue strings and 12 white strings (see pics rights for the braid).  I can also make a set with tabernacle colors (see pics below).
Please contact me if you have a custom request.
    I only use
    size #10
string in making these.  They are about 18" when complete.
    Two-House
    (4 to a set)
    (listed separately)
    https://www.ebay.com/itm/141214168949
12 chains together, 12 chains scattered, 12 chains reunited (
see pictures to the right for the braid
): Following the Karaite method in braiding these and literally looking at what the Bible DOES say and DOES NOT say, here are some deductions:
    T
ITZIT are for the "children of Israel" (this could be men, women, or children)
The fringe goes on the border/corner (
    KANAPH
    ) of a garment (white)
The fringe is to include a cord of
    blue
    (
    in Hebrew
    TEKHELET
    )
    The specifics of
    what blue
to be used are not mentioned in any Bible text
The blue cord goes on the fringe itself (but not the garment)
Multiple threads are to be used (cord)
    The
    number of threads
to be used is not mentioned in any Bible text
There are to be four tassels for the four corners of the garment
This is an outer (not inner) garment (vesture) that is used to cover the wearer
    The
    length of tassel
is not mentioned in any Bible text
The fringe may be braided (as opposed to tied) like what might be done with hair
    The
    number of braids
to be made is not mentioned in any Bible text
It is to serve as a reminder of all of the commandments of G-d and to do them
Garments should also not have mixed fibers (
    Deuteronomy 22:11
    )
    The
    material
to be used for the TZITZIT is not mentioned in any Bible text
Beyond these Biblical guidelines is "tradition."  This is where a certain
    blue
    , certain
    number of strings
    , certain
    number of knots
    or
    braids
    , certain
    length
    , certain numeric symbolism (
    gematria
) etc. come in.  I have personally discovered and made at least 15 (of many) different TZITZIT traditions along with learning something of their various meanings.
They are all very interesting and beautiful in their own appearance.
    I use
    size #10
string in making these (I can also use
    size #3
string).    They are about 18" when complete.
The initial loop is made up of 40 chains (2.5-3").  This part that attaches is also
    only white
.  To that white loop is attached the
    blue
    cord (see pics right).
There are 12 chains of white and 12 chains of blue braided together (again, representing all tribes of the "children of Israel")
Then there are two strands of white and blue separately (representing the divided or scattered tribes of Israelites).  This "two-house" idea is found in Israel's history in the divided Northern tribes of Israel/Ephraim and Southern tribes of Judah.
The last section shows again the joined strands of white and blue braided together based on the prophecy of
    Ezekiel 37:15-28
    .
Total length of these fringes is about 18"
    Please understand the price
    , A set of 4 takes over
    1 hour to make
(some of the Karaite TZITZIT take over 2 hours to make) but a set looks really nice (see pictures).
    ATTACHING:
I have had some questions on attaching TZITZIT to a TALLIT or Belt Loop.
Here is a graphic to illustrate:
    CUSTOM STUFF:
    Tabernacle ("mishkan") Colors
    for the Karaite style
    (White/Crimson/Blue/Purple):
    for the Sephardic style
    (Blue/Purple/Scarlet/White):
    for the Two-House
    (Blue/Purple/Scarlet/White):
    Sephardic Blues
(Warm, Royal, Delphinium, & Navy Shamash)
Rav Amram Gaon Noachide Rainbow (Thick size#3)
(The color scheme here works out to 15 windings instead of 13
alternating white with color and uses 8 strings instead of 4 strings
(White, Crimson, White, Tangerine, White, Maize, White, Sage,
White, Warm Blue, White, Navy, White, Plum, White)
    TZITZIT Bracelets/Wrist Bands
    (1 to a set)
Here is a rather non-traditional but interesting approach to wearing "the commandments."  Is the earth round?  Does it have 4 corners?  Yet, the Bible uses an interesting phrase "four corners of the earth" (See Isaiah 11:12; Ezekiel 7:2 "land") and yet the Earth is a circle (Isaiah 40:22).  Obviously, this "four corners (kanaph)" phrase is a figurative reference to the directional points on the compass.  Garments in ancient times had four corners (kanaph) which is where the TZITZIT goes.  Garments in modern times do not have four corners, which is where the TALLIT comes in (a "little tent" with 4 corners for the tassels).  Wearing TZITZIYOT is to be
    seen
    , a physical
    reminder
    to
    do
the commandments of G-d.  Binding the commandments to the hand has traditionally been interpreted in the TEFILLIN (Phylacteries), but why not in other ways too (like a wrist band, ring or necklace)?  A TZITZIT represent the laws (613) which are to be worn, seen, remembered, and obeyed.  People today put TZITZIYOT on belt loops,  Bible markers, scarves, shawls, and other items of clothing.
"thou shalt bind them for a sign on your hand" (See Deuteronomy 6:8; 11:18; Exodus 13:9; 13:16)
As with traditional TZITZIYOT, these individual TZITZIT wrist bands/bracelet can be made in the various traditions and colors.  If you are wanting something not listed, send me your custom requests.

    TZITZIT Clips
    (4 to a set)
Here's a neat idea if you want to be able to clip your tassels to a shirt or loop.  Easy to install tzitziyot & quick to connect (see instructions picture below right).

    TALLIT Clips
    These are awesome!
Here's a great accessory for your prayer shawl.  They are easy to attach and wear (see pics).  Size is about 4" to 4.5" from left to right (depends on coin size)
I've also had different requests for different coins.
Contact me if you have something special in mind.

(cost according to coin size).  For reference here are
